About the Artist,
Rochelle Mason
First
of all, I must confess I'm a secretive Scorpio and a reclusive artist.
I prefer spending my days in quiet solitude painting the animals
I
love. Two cats share my life here in beautiful, rural
Volcano,
on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Pu'u O'o vent of Kilauea Volcano is
several
miles downslope and on lightly-clouded nights I can see glow from the
lava.
I've
been painting
companion animals and wildlife professionally since 1980 and have had
the good fortune to meet and learn
about so many
wonderful animals by painting them. Also, I've produced three
endangered species art exhibitions and a nationally- published
column
entitled Focus on
Nature®.
Right-brained
creativity is balanced with left-brained paperwork. Contrary to popular
belief, some of us artists actually enjoy running our own art business.
I wish more artists did. I've come far in my journey as an
artist and realize I still have a long
way to go. Having loving and supportive parents has a lot to do with
my success.
